Morwell RSL offers membership to all of those who have served in the Armed Forces. With low fees, you can benefit greatly from all that the RSL provides. We also offer Affiliate membership for family members, Social memberships and Community memberships. Take advantage of our great facilities and become part of the RSL community.

Membership is very important to our Sub-Branch and existing members should all encourage our eligible friends to
join. The Morwell RSL provides its members with professional assistance in a range of matters including:

  • Entitlement claims & appliactions from the Military Compensation & Rehabilitation Service (MCRS),
  • Veterans’ Review Board (VRB), Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) & the Department of Veterans’
  • Affairs.
  • Service records & medal entitlements.
  • Advocacy
  • Bereavement support.
  • Funeral Arrangements.

Membership Types

  • Service Membership (for those who have served in the Armed Forces)
  • Affiliate Membership (for those related to people eligible for Service Membership)
  • Social Membership (generally for those not related to people eligible for Service membership)
  • Community Memberships

Service Membership – (Membership Fee – $20.00 per year incl. GST)

Service Membership is the RSL membership that caters for those who have served in the Armed Forces. To join as
a Service Member, you must be over the age of 18 and comply with one of the following:

  • Served in any of the Australian Defence Forces in any conflict.
  • Served not less than six months in the regular or reserve Australian Defence Force (unless discharged
  • before six months due to illness or injury whilst in the service)
  • Completed a period of National Service in the Australian Defence Force.
  • Served in the defence forces of any country that is a part of the Commonwealth.
  • Served in the Defence Forces of the Country who is an Ally of Australia.
  • Are an Australian citizen & have served in the Defence Force of any country allied to Australia.

  • Enter the club without the need to “Sign-In” & can “Sign-In” guests.
    Use any of the club facilities including
    • Members Lounge
    • Bistro
    • Billiard & Pool Tables
    • Darts
    • Courtesy Bus
    • Gaming Room
    • Library
    • Function Room Hire
  • Complimentary tea & coffee is always available.
  • Free entry into selected prize draws on most Wednesday & Friday evenings.
  • Full access to member’s facilities & prices at over 80 licensed RSL venues throughout Victoria.
  • Full voting rights & the ability to stand for any elected position within the RSL in Victoria, from a Sub-Branch committee person to the State President (with qualifications of committee service).
  • The opportunity to continue to enjoy the spirit of comradeship experienced during your service in the Armed Forces with other serving or Ex Defence Force members & their families.
  • Receive the quarterly RSL journal (Mufti) issued by the Victorian State Branch of the RSL.
  • Discounts on a wide range of electrical appliances, white goods & computers, care tyres & car batteries etc.
  • The opportunity to participate in RSL sporting & social activities.
  • The right to wear the time honoured RSL badge.

Affiliate Membership – (Membership Fee – $20.00 per year Incl. GST)

Affiliate Membership is the RSL membership that caters mainly for family members of serving and ex-servicemen and women. Its purpose is to provide a form of RSL membership that maintains the “bloodlines” of those who have served their country in peace and war. To join as an Affiliate Member, you must be over the age of 18 and comply with one of the following:

  • Related to a Service or Life Member of the RSL.
  • Related to a person who at the time of his/her death was eligible through their Australian Defence Service to be a member of the RSL.
  • Served a minimum of 6 months in the Police Force, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, or State Emergency Service (and provided certified evidence of service by a Senior Officer).

  • Enter the club without the need to “Sign-In” and can “Sign-In” guests.
  • Use any of the club facilities including:
    • Members Lounge
    • Bistro
    • Billiard & Pool Tables
    • Darts
    • Courtesy Bus
    • Gaming Room
    • Library
    • Function Room Hire
  • Complimentary tea & coffee is always available.
  • Free entry into selected price draws on most Wednesday & Friday evenings.
  • Full access to member’s facilities & prices at over 80 licensed RSL venues throughout Victoria.
  • The right to vote on most matters pertaining to the Morwell RSL Sub-Branch
  • The ability to serve on the Morwell RSL Sub-Branch committee. (Max 25% of committee membership)
  • The opportunity to enjoy the spirit of comradeship with other serving or ex-serving members of the Defence Forces & their families.
  • Receive the quarterly RSL journal (Mufti) issued by the Victorian State Branch of the RSL.
  • Discounts on a wide range of electrical appliances, white goods & computers, car tyres & car batteries etc.
  • The opportunity to participate in RSL sporting & social activities.
  • The right to wear the RSL Affiliate badge.

Social Membership – (Membership Fee – $20.00 per year incl. GST)

Social Membership is the RSL membership that caters for people who do not necessarily have a direct connection with members of serving and ex-servicemen and women. Social Members have the same entitlements as Service or Affiliate Members and can enter the club without the need to “Sign-In” and they can “Sign-In” Guests. Social Members do not have any Voting Rights at Meetings and do not receive the quarterly RSL journal (Mufti) issued by the Victorian State Branch of the RSL.
