As it is throughout the country, ANZAC Day is a very important day in Morwell, both for the Morwell RSL subbranch and for the community.

 Annual Anzac Day Timetable

Dawn Service – The  ANZAC Day Dawn Service conducted by the Morwell RSL will commence at 5-45am at the Morwell Cenotaph, on the corner of Tarwin and Elgin Streets, ( Outside the Morwell RSL Clubrooms ).

RSL Members and the General Public are also invited to a “Gunfire” breakfast after the Service and entry is $5.00.  RSL members and guests should enter the RSL clubrooms through the Tarwin Street entrance.

Commemorative March & Service – Marchers should assemble at 11-30am near the Morwell Town Common (Opposite the Commercial Road Primary School in Elgin Street) and “Step-Off” will be at 11-50am sharp.  They will march along Elgin Street to the Cenotaph, where the official service will commence at 12.00 noon.

Morwell Sub-Branch – ANZAC Day Luncheon

 The ANZAC Day Luncheon will follow the ANZAC Day Service and take the form of a 3 course sit down meal subsidised by the Sub-Branch.  PLease enter through the Elgin Street entrance.  It is strictly limited to Morwell RSL Sub-Branch Service and Affiliate Members.  Visiting Service and Ex-Service personnel, their carers and Specially Invited Guests.  No Children, Social or Community Members are able to attend.

Service Members of the Morwell RSL Sub-Branch and where appropriate, their registered carers will be charged $5.00 per head.  Affiliate and Women’s Auxiliary Members will be charged $10.00 per head.  If sufficient room is available, visiting Members from other RSL Sub-Branches will also be charged $10.00 per head

Tickets are normally available from the reception desk at the end of February and to ensure you have a seat you are requested to book then.  If there are still tickets available, they will be sold at the door but do not rely on this and book early!
Please note that this Luncheon is strictly limited to Service, Affiliate, Women’s Auxiliary, Registered Carers and Special Guests.  If you wish to book a table for a group of members please tell the Receptionist or our Manager Robert White when you pick up or pay for your tickets.
As stated above, we will try to cater for visiting Service Members if there are sufficient seats available.

No children, Social or Community Members are able to attend.
YINNAR  –  ANZAC  Day  Timetable
The Yinnar Township ANZAC Day march will assemble at 9-00am near the general store in the Main Street and march-off at 9-20am to the Cenotaph, also in the Main Street.  A Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Cenotaph will commence at 9-30am, followed by a Service in the nearby Memorial Hall at 9-45am.
